Call for papers
(Biographical) Narratives of 20th Century International Conference

The conference is organized by the Hungarian Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology (Babeş-Bolyai University, Faculty of Letters, Cluj-Napoca).
The international conference intends to focus on the representative events of the 20th century, on their narrative representations, on the status and functions of narratives, on narrative strategies, on modes of representing events (orality, writing, film, photography). It is preferred to present/emphasize the methodological framework and the results of finished researches.
Presentations should be about 20 minutes long.
Date of the conference: 19 October, 2010.

The presentations should be in Hungarian, Romanian, English, French.
Place of the conference: Babeş-Bolyai University, Faculty of Letters, Cluj-Napoca.

Between the 12th and 16th of April the invited professor of the chair is Phd. Kuti Klara, who is a professor at the University of Pecs, will held a course called Ways of Life, everyday habits and the world of objects.



 

Public defence of the thesis

On the 25th of January 2010 Peti Lehel's dissertation debate will be held. The title of his dissertation is : Religious phenonenon in villages situated round the region called Bacau during communism. From socialist religion to postsocialist modernism: the transcendent communication's visual aspects within csango villages.

 

On the 25th of January 2010 Szőcs Levente's dissertation will be presented for defence, the title of which is: The functions of the autobiography within the location called Gheorgheni in the 20th century. Dissertation tutor: dr. Keszeg Vilmos university teacher, the committe chairman: dr. Pozsony Ferenc university teacher, reviewers: dr. Mohay Tamas reader, dr. Tanczos Vilmos reader, dr. Zsigmond Gyozo university teacher.




 

Invited professor

Between the 7th and the 11th of December 2009, conf. Dr. Kotics Jozsef , professor of the Chair of Cultural and Visual Anthropology from Miskolc University, gives a course linked with the area of Historical Anthropology.

On the 4th and 5th of December 2009, Dr. Keszeg Vilmos
is the invited professor of the Chair of History within the University of Blagoewgrad.
